Cricket 19: One Week to Go!

In just one week’s time we can all have our hands on a copy of Big Ant’s latest console cricket game… Cricket 19! Could you get a more self-explanatory title?

I’ve scripted a few articles about the game before it’s even been released but now is nearly the time to get playing again. I stopped playing Ashes Cricket sometime ago and had stored my monitor and PS4 away. Big Ant cricket games are literally the sole reason for me having such items and have been a core of my blogging efforts. Quite where in my tiny house I’m going to set up game central remains uncertain!

I’ve been there from the beginning. From Don Bradman Cricket 14 to 17 to Ashes Cricket and now Cricket 19. I’ve played some great matches and really enjoyed the realness of the game. I’ve also been there submitting bug reports at ridiculous o’clock. Not this time eh Big Ant?!

I only wish that I could devote more time to the game but family, work and fresh air are required in small doses at least.

Will I finish the career that I commence?

Will I finish the Test league that I start, let alone ODI and T20I leagues?

Probably not!

Whatever I do though, come acing an epic successful run chase as England or being run out first ball in Career Mode, you can read all about it here.

Stay tuned folks because I’m padding up and putting my gloves on!

Cricket 19: What Will You Do?

Cricket 19 will be with us in May… May!

Check out the teaser trailer below…

It leaves you wanting more doesn’t it?

Big Ant’s fourth attempt at a cricket game will hopefully be their most polished yet.

Don Bradman Cricket 14, its follow up in 17 and Ashes Cricket all had their qualities but far too often steps forward were compromised by as many steps back.

What do you intend to do on Cricket 19?

A career mode as yourself or maybe a family member or celebrity. I’d love to do some career modes as my daughters. I’ve got one down for left-arm spin and the other as a right-hander, maybe a modern-day attacking batter.

Maybe you’ll create some leagues. I’ll be revisiting my Test league as England. I don’t think that I’ll over do it with the number of teams and might keep white-ball cricket for some separate triangular tournaments. You know I love a good triangular!

Maybe you’ll find some unlikely heroes. Adam Lyth’s 120 in an ODI against Nepal will live with me forever!!!

Who will you hand out international caps too?

As the anticipation builds, be sure to look out for my match reports and reviews coming soon.

Cricket 19: What’s in a Name?

Something worth noting is that Big Ant’s fourth cricket game, due for release as soon as May, will be called Cricket 19.

This makes a lot of sense. Just like FIFA World Cup games are extremely limited, Ashes Cricket could easily be dismissed by potential buyers as a game without much depth. With Career Mode and all the customisation available, whether it be players, tournaments, kits or whatever, the game will certainly possess depth.

Fingers crossed that Big Ant have ironed out previous flaws and will deliver a groundbreaking game!

Cricket 19 and BBL Console Game… Confirmed!

I can announce that Big Ant CEO Ross Symons has confirmed that there’ll be a new Ashes game released this summer… yes!!!!!

The game will be released on console and will include the ability to upload photos of players!

Big Ant advise that they’ve been working on the game since the last one (A whole two years!) and that the game will have extreme added depth. Symons advises that it’ll be “… the biggest update in cricket games since Don Bradman 14…”.

England and Australia will be fully licensed and the players have already been photographed.

Big Ant are also making a licensed Big Bash League game.

Excited!!!
